ThalCare - Thalassemia Management System : A Case Study

ThalCare is world’s first web application for comprehensive thalassemia management. It enables world class, affordable and accessible protocol driven thalassemia care locally even in limited resource settings.

ThalCare is a powerful thalassemia management tool which makes the job of managing patients with thalassemia extremely simple and effective for institutions delivering this healthcare. This tool is typically deployed at a day care center where the patients are coming for transfusion. It is single point of storage of all information related to these patients and generates automatic alerts, reports and indicators on the progress and treatment of each patient and the centre as a whole.

Manthan Awards 2013 for ThalCare under e-Health Category

It is a proud moment for both Sankalp India Foundation, an NGO and Jagriti Innovations. ThalCare, a tool for management of Thalassemia was envisioned to remove the hassles of managing the protocols related to thalassemia, patient history and timely intervention at an affordable cost. The tool is already deployed in two esteemed institutions in Bangalore: Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, premier organization promoting tertiary level Child Health Care services in Bangalore and Rashtrotthana Parishat, Bangalore managing over 200 thalassemia patients each.

Novartis Thalassemia App Challenge

Jagriti Innovations had built ThalCare, a thalassemia management system for Sankalp India Foundation for managing patients with a genetic blood disorder. The system had been in use in Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, a premier organization promoting tertiary level Child Health Care services in Bangalore where over 200 kids with Thalassemia are registered.
